Trash

I found this lovely bird at its final resting place, at the foot of a dusty control panel, in a military research facility.
On my first visit, I took a series of snaps of it but then on returning home regretted not rescuing it.
I made a special second visit to pick it up. After traversing barbed fences and dodging security I was relieved to find it still waiting for me in the same place.
People have called it 'trash' but I think it has something phoenix-like about it.
So I created a suitable lightbox for it to spend its last days before it finally turns to dust.

Brain lamps of 1950s mental patients

I love clinical imagery, so these 2 night lights were created with possibly ;o) real pathology brain slides and samples of asylum psychiatric patients from the 1950s, probably pre-and post-treatments such as electroconvulsive therapy and early heavy drugs. See here- Mortuary and path lab

Trash junior

This little critter, I spotted in the corner of a box of odds and ends at a car boot sale. Excitedly, I bought the lot with the sole intention of nurturing this little fellow up onto my mantelpiece.

Control panel lamps

How I would love to have my walls adorned with the old 50s control room panels I have witnessed on my travels.
Here is a small night light made from some small token lamps that show what some of the gauges are like.
